Non-Alc Picks from Kendall Dickieson, the Social Media Expert Behind Your Favorite CPG Brands

Kendall Dickieson is a social media marketing consultant for CPG brands like Graza, Little Sesame, immi, and more. She also just recently launched a newsletter, No Filter, which covers the current landscape within social media and influencer marketing giving her learnings, tips, and more. Each issue includes a section sharing her favorite brands that might be in her fridge (of the non-alc variety) or pantry—because nothing is better than a little treat.

Kendall’s first dip in the dry pond happened after her 21st birthday. On and off, she would have one drink out with friends, but more times than not, she had a Diet Coke with some lemon in hand. Why? She realized early on that drinking increased her anxiety, affected her sleep, and impacted her performance as someone who is very active. So, it was easier to just cut it out. At that age and in 2017, it wasn’t really the “norm” to not drink when out with friends.

As the years went on and she got more immersed in the beverage space, Kendall learned more about the non-alc options that existed. First, it was the comfort of having a Liquid Death in hand, which made it look like she was having a beer at concerts. Next, it was beer alternatives like Athletic Brewing, which was followed by Ghia, then Cann, and so on. Her realization that she could enjoy the flavor of a nice beer at dinner or even wine without hangxiety was an unlock. Since then, Kendall lives a mostly dry lifestyle keeping her fridge stocked with some of her favorite selections below:

  • Ritual Zero Proof Whiskey: Hand me a Vintage Cola Olipop, some ice, two shots of this, and a glass and it’s the perfect late night work beverage. Same burn and warmth as regular whiskey without the alcohol? #Winning

  • Tost Dry Sparkling Tea: Now you can look like you’re having champagne whenever you want. I love pouring a glass or two of this to celebrate something big, whether personally or with friends. I first had it at Expo East a year ago at a party and have been buying bottles at Whole Foods since.

  • Louie Louie Blackberry Lemon THC Seltzer: I recently tried these and have been having one a few times a week since. It’s hard to pick a favorite flavor. They are the perfect “chill out” beverage with 5mg THC. A tasty high? Count me in.

  • Athletic Brewing Golden Ale: Always been a beer gal. Athletic was the first brand I ever tried in the non-alc department and I always keep a case on me. I also love their Cerveza, which is identical to a Corona.

  • St. Agrestis Phony Negroni: So, I only had a regular Negroni once and it was not my thing. BUT I gave it another chance—just the non-alc way. Whenever I see it on the menu, I always order it. It’s sweet, not overly florally, and perfect to sip with a nice meal. Plus, I’m a sucker for their branding.

  • Grapefruit Rosemary Cann: A special shoutout to Cann because they are the ones who got me back into the THC world. I stopped dabbling years ago, but I remember finally seeing that I could get Cann locally in New York City and went on a hunt. Soon, I found myself buying them every week as a little treat.
