Paige Danoff founded Sober and Funky in 2022 after discovering how far the world of non-alcoholic beverages had grown since her days as a bartender in the 2010s. As a former bar owner, Paige missed the community and creativity that comes with making drinks. Now, her mission is to inspire non-drinkers to know they can still be fun without booze. She takes great pride in introducing them to incredible non-alc options.
Paige has become an advocate for non-alc options in bars, restaurants, and event spaces. She plans to continue growing Sober and Funky into a community of fun for non-drinkers in Austin.
Here are Paige’s current non-alc picks
This is my everyday go-to drink. My refrigerator is stocked with the stuff. Think of an incredibly lovely lavender lemonade that just also happens to chill you out with some CBD.
Tenneyson is unlike anything else in the non-alc world. It’s got a bit of kick from the ginger and is easy to work with. Just add your favorite ginger beer and some fresh lime to enjoy.
As the weather starts to warm up, I love to sit on our patio with a glass of rosé. This one is dry and crisp. It has the perfect amount of bubbles to close a busy day.
This is the drink I grab when I’m headed out the door and want a treat to bring with me. It’s bitter, but has that kick of ginger that I love.
Kolonne Null Cuvée Rouge No. 2
One of the absolute best reds I’ve ever had. Buttery, dry, and delicious. Reds are well-known for being difficult to recreate without alcohol. This is as near perfect as it gets.
There’s a new non-alc bitters in town crafted by Seedlip founder Ben Branson. If you love the smell of fresh-cut grass, you must try Seasn Light. This is spring in a bottle and it’s incredible.
Ritual is the perfect 1:1 replacement. Two words: ranch water. That’s all. But also, margaritas. And bloody marias. Okay, now I’m just naming drinks, but you get the idea.
